I know. I posted a blog about possibly taking a break. But I felt this should be posted anyway.
I don't like this show, but while my parents were watching Big Brother, and it was announced that the votes were so close they hadn't yet found a winner:
Mum: "Well if it's so close... can't they just make it a draw and let that be it? Then they both win!"
I'm sure that absolutely everybody would be satisfied if they did that... Silly.

Em: Your woman is a wise, wise mother. She was watching it because dad was. As to why my dad was watching big brother...?
ReplyDeleteEmmalee: I love your cooking. and her mum. YES, I did just reuse the same joke with different words. plj.
Silly.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Big Brother a glorified popularity contest? I'm still not sure what it is you "do" to "win" the show. Hmmm, give me "The Price is Right" any day...
ReplyDeleteJono: Silly.
ReplyDeleteSimon: Interesting opinion - My tutor in a subject says Big Brother gives him hope for humanity. The argument is this: "12 or so strangers living together, with so many scenarios specifically set up so that they will fight and go feral (like in other countries)... and yet they are close, and friends." I was interested by it. What do you think?
BC: I'd never thought of it that way before. As always, life is more than simply one sided. It's more like looking into the variety of faces on a diamond; each way you spin it, a new way a seeing things is exposed. A thought worth pondering. However, is this really 'reality'? Obvious answer is no. It is still a staged environment with strict rules of behaviour, and so it's still very sanitised. Reality is far messier and perhaps the BB contestants still have in the back of their minds that their on display for the world to see. What do you think?
